Power Plant Operating Engineer First Class

ASOPE® offers an opportunity to obtain a Power Plant Operating Engineer - First Class license. A list of qualifications that are required to receive your Power Plant Operating Engineer - First Class license are outlined below. Requirements include being 18+ of age, a high school diploma/GED or equivalent, and four years minimum experience as a Power Plant Operating Engineer.

If all qualifications are met, you will be required to schedule an exam. The exam consists of a wide range of curriculum including, but not limited to, power plant piping systems, power plant advanced electricity, turbine generators and emergency diesel systems and other associated equipment. Upon completion of the Power Plant Operating Engineer - First Class license exam, an ASOPE® representative will notify of a "pass" or "fail" status. Qualifications

  • Minimum age - Adult
  • Education - High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent
  • Experience - Four years
  • Examination - Written (Oral or Practical when necessary)
  • Minimum time in previous grade - One year or one year in grade as a Facility Operating Engineer Chief
